Rapper Dolla died on Monday after he was shot in Los Angeles. The 21-year-old hip-hop star, real name Roderick Anthony Burton II, was hanging out with another rapper at L.A.'s Beverly Center mall when he suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head at around 3.10pm.

He was taken to the nearby Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but died later in the hospital. Two suspects are said to have fled from the scene of the crime, but authorities managed to arrest one of them as he reportedly attempted to catch a departing plane from LAX Airport.

According to TMZ.com, the 20-year-old man, identified by the website as Aubery Berry, immediately surrendered in the lobby area of the terminal after he spotted police officers approaching him.

Dolla was a rising star in the hip-hop world and was signed to Akon's Konvict Muzik label.
