Teri Hatcher is teaching her 11-year-old daughter how to gamble, so the youngster can hone her math skills.

The Desperate Housewives actress is an avid horse racing fan and admits she has started taking her kid Emerson to meetings, so she can challenge her with betting equations.

Hatcher insists the sport is helping her daughter learn how to add and subtract.

She says, "I do use the opportunity to make her understand math and what you're betting and what you get back... so we work on math. It's fun."
