Bette Midler Rejects The Idea Of Going Into Politics
The actress/singer works tirelessly for conservation charities, prompting the suggestion she should run for political office.
Midler insists she has the looks, style and voice required for public office, but would be useless at making decisions that would affect the lives of others.
She tells NYPost.com's PopWrap blog, "I really don't have the talent. I can make a speech and can get my hair blown out and wear a suit, and I know that I understand what a good policy is, but to actually implement it and get people to follow you without them turning around and taking bribes, I don't know how to do that. And it's hard to keep all those balls in the air. I can focus on my little world - my music and my sequins."
