MediumImmediately after the end of the three part "Medium" episode came season five's finale, titled 'The Man in the Mirror.' This was an interesting one, and probably one of the worst things Allison has had to deal with due to her powers. Everything seems fine on a typical Dubois morning, until Allison gets very dizzy and falls to the ground. She seems okay and refuses to go to the hospital, so everyone goes on with their day. They investigate the murder of a John Doe lying in a shallow grave, but nothing comes up for Allison ... and she abruptly goes into a deep coma. As she goes down with Devalos yelling, a man in a hospital bed wakes up looking dazed and confused.

Joe rushes to the hospital and finds out that Allison is in a coma for no apparent reason. He is understandably freaked out and tries to keep the girls calm when he picks them up from school, promising their mother would be home soon. He is a little on edge when finding the confused hospital patient standing on their lawn, but the man leaves when asked. Then later that night he is out on the sidewalk staring at the door, scaring the kids, so Joe comes out to talk to him. The man, named Todd on his wrist band, swears he is Allison, and Joe is more than a little freaked out, suspicious, and on the other hand knows this kind of stuff happens all the time to his wife. This is a doozy, though!

Joe allows Todd-Allison into the house, which terrifies Ariel and she is very angry with her father. Later that night Todd-Allison has a vision about throwing the body into the grave, so maybe he's the murderer they were looking for. He asks Joe to take a piece of his hair and bring it to Devalos since they found hair on the scene of the crime. Everyone is looking for Todd and he's now a missing person. Devalos does take the sample, trusting the Dubois family even if it does seem a little weird.

Back at home Todd-Allison makes a costume for Marie's school play, and Ariel's friend recognizes him. Later that night Devalos comes to the home and pushes Joe about Todd being there. He turns himself in. When he gets back to the hospital, his wife is there and he is put to sleep. He has a vision that his wife is really the murderer, but it's too late since upon waking up he finds she put an air bubble in his IV. Uh oh!

The doctors try to help him, and then Allison appears, but it's really Todd in her body and he accuses his wife of murder. Todd's body is brought back alive and both spirits go back where they belong. The wife is taken down, everyone is in their body, and Allison saved the day! That's not necessarily a great ending to season five, there wasn't a huge change like last year or the one before that. This would've been an average episode, so they might have wanted to end it on the three parter.

"Medium" will come back next season so stay tuned for more about the Dubois family!
