"Medium" does enjoy having a few two part episodes every season, but rarely do they attempt a three parter, and honestly 'How to Make A Killing in Big Business' could probably have been shortened. It worked as three hours, but it was a strain for sure. Allison gets a taste of the good life with a new job, but last week she realized that her boss' son was responsible for the murder of several girls. Lydecker warns her not to share her dreams with the police or he'll sue her and take everything since she signed a contract that her dreams are his. Allison realizes quickly in the third part that this is why he hired her in the first place; to keep her from exposing his son.
Allison plans to spill everything, despite what it means to her family, and she is stopped by fellow psychic Caitlyn. Caitlyn warns Allison that they really will take all of her money and ruin her family, so she'd best speak to Lydecker first. He explains he does know about his son, but he plans on handling it himself. He wants to take Justin far away - out of the country - and force him to stop by essentially castrating his sexual drive. This he hopes will also stop his interest in violence. Allison is scared into staying quiet, especially since she can't help anyway with Justin being out of the country. This all changes when she has a vision of him not taking the special pills, and then watching him murder his own father. Caitlyn flies to Mexico City in the middle of the night and asks Allison to meet her there. Lydecker is indeed dead, Justin has gotten away, and Caitlyn covers it up by saying it was terrorists instead. This will make the Lydecker business boom, and Caitlyn is now the CEO.

Ariel keeps having disturbing dreams about her teacher being murdered, and she wonders if it has to do with her dead classmate. She doesn't take the medication to switch off the voices. She sees her teacher's boyfriend yelling at her and fears he might do something violent. Allison finally comes to Devalos about Lydecker's murder, but he can't do anything because Justin is missing and they have no evidence. Allison then realizes that Caitlyn knew all along that Lydecker was going to die by his son's hands, and she accuses the woman, but Caitlyn just brushes her off. After all, what can Allison do to stop her?
Ariel comes through in the end since it's her teacher that will be Justin's next victim, and Allison manages to call in the police just in time. He is captured and confesses to everything, especially that Caitlyn encouraged him to murder his father and helped bail him out. She's caught! She tells Allison her contract is terminated, and Allison seems very happy about this.
So the little guy beats the big evil corporation yet again. Yawn. It wasn't a bad episode in the least, it's just rather that it's been done time and time again, and it was very predictable. It was also a strange build up to the season finale of "Medium" which had absolutely nothing to do with the three parter. Weird.
Medium Stars: Patricia Arquette, Miguel Sandoval, Jake Weber, Sofia Vassilieva, Maria Lark, David Cubitt, Anjelica Huston
