is desperate to embark on a serious film career - begging directors to give her the same chance rocker Nick Cave
offered when they dueted on anti-pop ballad "Where The Wild Roses Grow."
The Aussie pop star, best known for her catchy dance and pop tunes, shocked her fans when she teamed up with dark musician Cave for a song about murder. And Minogue would love it if a similarly edgy director would give her the chance to become a respected big screen star - because acting is was how her career got started.
She says, "(Cave) saw me in a totally different way, believed in me and had this idea and a vision for a number of years before he contacted me and we worked together and it was just absolutely perfect. My daytime fantasy is that there is a director somewhere who will be thinking that kind of way but putting it into the context of the film. I would love to do more movies. I really got waylaid and sidetracked. I started out as an actress and I thought that's what I would do."
Minogue - who started her career on Australian soap "Neighbours" - has made a handful of movie appearance, including "The Delinquents," Street Fighter
and a small part as the Green Fairy in Moulin Rouge
