The man linked to newly single Lindsay Lohan has denied dating the actress - insisting the pair is "just friends."

Ben Holz was rumored to be romancing the Mean Girls star after they were spotted frolicking in the sea in Hawaii together earlier this week.

But Lohan, who recently split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson, is still single according to web entrepreneur Holz, who was introduced to his new pal by another famous friend.

Holz tells Radar Online, "We have a mutual friend, Woody Harrelson, who lives here on the island - he asked me to show her around.

"Lindsay and I are just friends."
