Britney Spears' ex Kevin Federline is moving into a new child-friendly California home, so he can better care for the couple's sons.

The former dancer and wannabe rapper was handed full custody of three-year-old Sean Preston and two-year-old Jayden James after Spears suffered a breakdown in January last year.

The singer is allowed access to the tots, but while they live with him, Federline wants them to have the best environment possible - so he's selling up his $7,500-a-month rented pad in Tarzana, and replacing it with a more family-oriented home in nearby Chatsworth.

A source tells OK! Magazine, "He can rent a very kid-friendly ranch house there for half of what he's paying now."
