Dave Navarro's super-group Camp Freddy has pulled out of a planned concert in Cancun, Mexico - because the swine flu epidemic is too "serious" for the band to travel to the country.
The jam band - which also features Velvet Revolver's Matt Sorum, former The Cult bassist Billy Morrison and Chris Chaney, from Navarro's former band Jane's Addiction - was expected to play in the city on May 18th, reports Blabbermouth.net.
Morrison says, "The upcoming CAMP FREDDY show in Mexico has been cancelled due to the outbreak of swine flu currently sweeping the country. We are waiting to hear if the event will be rescheduled elsewhere on another date, but the trip to Cancun is off the table. It's a pity as we were all looking forward to a few days on the beach, but the situation in Mexico is serious and there was no option but to pull the show. Let's hope the authorities get that situation under some control."
The Camp Freddy concert is the latest showbiz event to be claimed by the spread of the potentially-fatal illness - Hugh Jackman's Mexico City premiere for new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was scheduled for Wednesday, was also scrapped.
