Tom CruiseTom Cruise has reportedly quit his planned role in political thriller The 28th Amendment - because the plot is too similar to upcoming movie Motorcade.

The actor was rumored to be lined up to star in the film, about a U.S. president who uncovers plans to kill him.

But Moviehole.net reports he has turned down the part as he wants to star in Motorcade, the story of a terrorist group plotting to attack the U.S. president.

The website also alleges Cruise has rebuffed an offer to play a Hollywood actor who falls for his Chinese director in romantic comedy Lost for Words.
