Samantha Ronson is delighted she has finally split from Lindsay Lohan - telling pals she feels "newborn" since breaking up from the Mean Girls actress.

The couple ended their turbulent romance last week amid accusations Ronson had cheated on the star.

Friends of the DJ have been offering their support since the split, with Fall Out Boy bass player Pete Wentz even sending his congratulations via social networking website Twitter.com.

He wrote: "It feels so good to get your name back. I get it. Celebrate."

And Ronson is clearly delighted to be single again, replying: "I love it. I feel like a newborn!"
