CSI: Crime Scene Investigation actress Marg Helgenberger doesn't grimace at the sight of a bloody scene on the hit TV show - because she started out as a meat handler.

Helgenberger took on a host of odd jobs, including one in a meat factory, before finding fame as an actress. But she's now able to laugh off the gruesome job, and admits she's glad she doesn't earn a living slaving over real-life blood and guts.

She says, "It really sucked. I did things like cut abscesses from chucks of beef and pulled gristle and fat off the assembly line... I suppose it would happen about three or four times a shift. You would take a stab at it and sometimes it would splurt."
