TV stuntman Steve-O has been diagnosed with a hematoma after taking a nasty tumble while rehearsing for TV show Dancing With The Stars.

The Jackass star fell on his microphone pack while trying to perfect a somersault during Monday's dress rehearsal for the show, and was rushed to hospital.

He was still under medical supervision when the show went live, forcing him to miss a dance-off with partner Lacey Schwimmer.

He says, "I have a hematoma. In laymen's terms it means I grew a third butt cheek... A sprained vessel... I have a pinched nerve and my back is sprained."

But Steve-O has no plans to follow injured celebrities Jewel and TV presenter Nancy O'Dell and quit the show.

He adds, "I'll be fine."

Despite his no-show on Monday night's show, Steve-O avoided becoming the first dancer cut - that dishonor belonged to The Go-Go's singer Belinda Carlisle.
