Sienna Miller Took 'G.I. Joe' Role To Give Parents A Break

Sienna Miller's parents were thrilled when they learned their daughter would be kicking butt in action film G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - because it meant they wouldn't have to watch the actress die on screen, or battle drug addiction. Miller's folks are fed up seeing their daughter in tortured roles and can't wait to catch her portrayal of The Baroness in the new movie.
The Factory Girl star explains, "I felt it was time to do something, where I wasn't having a breakdown or playing a heroin addict or dying in the end; something that was just maybe really great fun. And something people go to see and actually had a great time seeing it and weren't left damaged. My parents were also like, 'Please just stop doing these films, you're killing us!'"
And Miller admits she had a blast on the set: "G. I. Joe was a huge budget and a huge crew with things blowing up all around you all the time. I think initially I was completely overwhelmed. I'd never done fight training let alone been to a gym, so this was like a whole new experience. Once I realized what I was doing, it was really fun to make a movie that was just pure entertainment."
