Sammy Hagar Made $80 Million From Tequila Sale
The rocker sold 80 percent of his beverage company last year in a bid to expand the brand, and now he's sitting pretty on a massive fortune, with more cash rolling in all the time from his tequila project.
He tells Hustler magazine, "We ended up with (a large booze company) owning 80 percent and me keeping 20 percent. I'm completely happy. The check didn't bounce. I have everything I could possibly want... I'm still playing music because it's awesome. I don't need to do it for the money. I do it for me."
No part of the ongoing Van Halen reunion, Hagar has teamed up with ex-bandmate Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Peppers star Chad Smith and guitar great Joe Satriani to form Chickenfoot.
