Jim Carrey Tapped For 'Damn Yankees' Movie
The show tells the story of baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, a man who sells his soul to the devil to save the team. The production won seven Tony Awards during its time on the New York theatre circuit and took its final Broadway bow in 1955.
Carrey will play the devil while Gyllenhaal plays Boyd, reports Daily Variety. New Line Cinema bosses have signed Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the duo behind hit movie musical Hairspray, to produce the project.
