" nears the end of its season, loose ends are beginning to come together as the characters are seemingly preparing for Christian's (Julian McMahon
) death. But as we all know you can't have "Nip/Tuck" without Christian.
Liz's mother comes to visit to help with wedding preparations and to talk to Christian. She asks him if he's gay, still surprised that her daughter is getting married to a man, and not just any man, a man that "still has his looks."
Liz's mother brings her old wedding dress along and expects Liz (Roma Maffia) to wear it since it's been passed down for generations. However, Liz can't fit into it so she asks Christian to schedule her for a breast reduction.
A dying man and his wife visit the McNamara/Troy office; the husband wants his wife to get plastic surgery so that she's more desirable for men after he dies.
Liz and Teddy decide to split the anesthesia job so that Liz won't have to spend all her time at home with Christian and Wilbur. In a random turn, Teddy asks Liz about "switching sides" and as usual seems to be up to something.
Christian interviews his potential replacement and the man is just like the old Christian; he loves the money and the women, and doesn't believe in marriage. After looking over his extensive credentials, Christian lets him work with Sean (Dylan Walsh) on a surgery to see how they get along.
While performing Liz's breast reduction (supposedly his last surgery), Christian decides to not take down the size as much as Liz had originally decided. After the surgery, she is upset for about 30 seconds until Christian presents her with a beautiful, new wedding dress. Despite knowing that it would anger her mother, Liz decides to wear the new dress at the wedding instead of her mother's dress.
In typical "Nip/Tuck" fashion, Christian and Sean decide to welcome in Christian's replacement by bringing him a goodie basket but find him in Christian's old office having sex with the couch. Apparently, he has a disorder where he prefers to have sex with inanimate objects. They tell him to get out but you soon find him wanting to have sex with the operating table (AND he does).
The dying man finds his own replacement, Tito the town butcher, and presents him at his wife's post-op checkup. His wife is rather distraught with the whole situation and sends Tito away. The husband apologizes for his insensitivity to the whole situation but ends up finding another replacement - a young, handsome man. His wife becomes suddenly OK with the idea and walks out with her new man.
Liz has a dramatic blowout with her mother at the bridal shower. She says that because of her mother she has no self image, and never felt like her lifestyle was accepted. After venting about her conflicted childhood, Liz yells at her mother (in front of all of her friends) and tells her that she doesn't want her to come to the wedding or be in the room anymore.
In a final moment, Sean watches old videos on his computer of himself with Christian and Julia. Teddy finds him reminiscing, and tells him that she know she can't replace Christian but that he won't lose her too (I say get rid of her!).
