Australian actors Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman are fronting a campaign to help the victims of the devastating bushfires currently sweeping their native country.

The actors, along with antipodean Russell Crowe, will take part in a televised appeal Down Under to raise funds for those affected by the disaster. Over 180 people have died since the fires broke out in the state of Victoria - with more than 1,000 others losing their homes. And now celebrities and politicians are lending a helping hand.

Orlando Bloom, Keith Urban and KD Lang have also agreed to take part in the Australia Unites telethon, in addition to comedienne and talk show host Ellen Degeneres, who is married to Australian actress Portia De Rossi.

Proceeds from donations will go to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.
