Oscar-nominated actress Melissa Leo is taking her preparations for the forthcoming awards ceremony more seriously than her rivals - insisting she feels as if she's getting ready to walk down the aisle.

The 48-year-old star received her first Academy Award nod for her turn in drama Frozen River, and will compete with Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway for the Best Actress award at the prize giving on February 22nd. And Leo can't hold back her exciting - she compares the build-up to becoming a first-time bride.

She tells New York gossip column PageSix, "Getting ready feels like the wedding I've never had." But, despite looking forward to the glitzy awards show, the actress isn't confident she will walk away with the revered industry honor.

She adds, "I have no anxiety as I really am genuinely surprised by this nomination and have no expectation of taking home a golden statue."
