The Oscar-winning actor/songwriters who fell in love for real on the set of Irish independent movie Once have split.

Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova played a busker and an immigrant who bond over their love of music in the 2006 movie. The pair became a couple in real life, and melted hearts at last year's Academy Awards when they collected the Best Original Song award for their duet Falling Softly, taken from the movie's soundtrack.

However their relationship has come to an end, even though they are still performing together. Hansard explains, "I think we both concluded that that wasn't what we really wanted. We're just really good friends."
