Mel GibsonMexican victims of 2005's Hurricane Stan have been presented with new homes which were built with a $1 million donation from Hollywood actor Mel Gibson.

The storm devastated the regions of Chiapas and Veracruz, Mexico - where Gibson filmed his 2006 movie Apocalypto - and hundreds of families were left homeless. Gibson subsequently offered up a substantial donation to help officials in the area begin the rebuilding process. And now the results have been unveiled by Mexican officials, with 109 new homes for victims of the disaster.

Hurricane Stan struck Central America and southern Mexico in October, 2005, damaging 40,000 residences in the country.
