Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was the world's biggest hit outside America in 2008. The sequel raked in $469.5 million - $4 million more than The Dark Knight.

Mamma Mia! came in third with $428.5 million and Kung Fu Panda and Hancock round out the newly-announced top five.

Meanwhile, The Dark Knight topped the list in the U.S. with a $531 million domestic take. Iron Man came in second and the Indiana Jones sequel third.
