Mel Gibson is growing his hair back, after his son dared him to shave himself bald.

The embarrassed actor was convinced a skinhead would be a good look for him, but it backfired badly.

Gibson, 53, tells the New York Post, "I thought it would be cool. That I'd be Shaft. Looking like I was a plucked chicken, the only perk was I wasn't recognized in a crowd."
