New York indie band TV On The Radio has beat icon Bob Dylan and rockers Coldplay to top Rolling Stone magazine's Best Albums of 2008 poll. The group's fourth studio album Dear Science triumphed over Dylan's second place LP Tell Tale Signs - The Bootleg Series Vol. 8 and Coldplay's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, ranked seventh, in the publication's top 50 hitlist.
Lil Wayne's multi-million-selling album Tha Carter III was the highest-placing hip-hop album at three, beating Nas' untitled LP - which sits at number 43, and rap duo The Knux, whose album Remind Me in Three Days…is 28th.
And newly-single country star Taylor Swift will be smiling - after learning her album Fearless, ranked number 39, narrowly beat her ex Joe Jonas; The Jonas Brothers' LP A Little Bit Longer came 40th.
