Advil Latrine Pop star Avril Lavigne has reportedly fired her management company in a bid to revive her flagging career.

The Canadian singer's last album, 2007's The Best Damn Thing, sold more than 5.4 million copies worldwide, failing to live up to the eight million sales of her previous LP, 2004's Under My Skin. Her recent tour to promote The Best Damn Thing was also hit by rumors of low ticket sales.

And now Lavigne is said to have dismissed her longtime manager, Terry McBride of Nettwerk, in a reported bid to change the direction of her career. A source tells celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, "Avril is hoping that new management can help her new album be more successful than the last."

Lavigne has now hired Irving Azoff to represent her - his management company's clients include Christina Aguilera and The Eagles.
