Amy Adams came close to sabotaging her fiancé's marriage proposal - because she was in a bad mood.

The actress announced her engagement to her artist boyfriend of six years, Darren Le Gallo, back in July. But she didn't reveal how an uncharacteristic bout of diva behavior almost ruined the whole romantic occasion.

She says, "He had something big and dramatic planned. He was going to take me out to a really nice dinner and then take me to the top of the Empire State Building. He's scared of heights so he thought that would be significant. But I completely ruined it by saying I wanted to go see a play instead of going to dinner."

"It was really romantic. He proposed to me in Central Park in a carriage. But I had to work the next day, so I was really grumpy. He was saying all of these really nice things, and I was just going through my lines for the next day."

"I don't remember a word he said. I want a redo, so I can behave next time."
