Ron WoodThe Rolling Stones rocker Ron Wood has confirmed plans for a reunion of his 70s supergroup The Faces are going very well after a week of top secret rehearsals.

Wood, Rod Stewart, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan spent much of last week working through classic tunes with Stewart's touring bass player Conrad Korsch, replacing the late Ronnie Lane in the line-up, at an undisclosed location.

And though a tour schedule has not been confirmed, Wood is confident the rehearsals will lead to bigger things.

He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "We're ready to go. It's like no time has passed by."

Wood admits the most difficult thing about the reunion is deciding which bass player to add to the band for a planned 2009 tour: "There's a lot of guest bass players that want to do it, including (Red Hot Chili Peppers star) Flea."

And now, the original Faces have tentatively agreed to tour in 2009.

Wood adds, "We just have to sort out when and where and drop all of the management egos and just do what we can... It's just a matter of getting everyone's availability sometime next year."

In November, eager Stewart revealed the group will hit the road next summer, stating, " It will be next summer and I am looking forward to it. It'll be great."
