Australian model Miranda Kerr was desperate to turn the page on her career before penning her new self-help book - because she wanted a job with more "substance."
The Victoria's Secret stunner - who is currently dating Orlando Bloom - shrugged off modeling ventures until her father, John, convinced her to step out onto the catwalk.
But Kerr, 25, insists she's found her calling as an author after writing a self-help book for young girls, called "Treasure Yourself."
She tells Page Six magazine, "I was so reluctant to do (modeling) at first.
I was like, 'Eh, models, they're like this or like that', which was totally wrong on my behalf. But I just felt like I wanted to do something with a bit more substance. (My father) said, 'Look, Miranda, obviously being a model you have a face, and with that face you have a voice, and with that voice you can make a difference'. And that's what I'm trying to do now. I'm writing a book for young women about self-image, and it's something I'm very passionate about."
