Foo FightersAfter the last episode of Top Chef, Ariane has a lot to prove, and she knows it. Plenty of the other chefs in the house are making comments about how she’s been on the bottom twice now. It’s time for a miracle.

For the Quickfire, the chefs are told they will be recreating dishes from the "Top Chef" cookbook, and draw a knife from the block that contains the page number for the recipe they will be working on. They have 60 minutes to prepare, but after ten minutes, Padme announces that they want soup instead. The chefs have 50 minutes to take their dish and make a soup out of it using Swanson broth. Celeb chef Brant Achatz announced Jamie, Leah, and Daniel’s soups were his favorite, with Leah winning immunity. Ironically, Ariane’s couscous in her soup was overcooked. Hmm.

The Chefs find out that they will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner, with a couple modifications for the Foo Fighters for their elimination challenge. The kicker is that they don’t get a fridge, freezer, or cooktop to create the meal. They will be cooking in microwaves and toaster ovens, and they’ll be doing it outside. The winning team will attend the Foo Fighters concert. The teams have one hour to shop, and $1200 per team to spend on ingredients. Since Leah was the winner of the Quickfire, she got to choose her team. Teams are composed as follows:

Team Sexy Pants: Leah, Jamie, Stefan, Fabio, Hosea, Melissa and Radhika

Team Cougar: Ariane, Alex, Carla, Daniel, Eugene, Richard, and Jeff

The prep went quickly, and Eugene felt that his team made it “By the skin of their ass.” The Foo Fighters walk in, and everyone holds their breath, hoping their dish will bring them to a concert. Most of them felt that the teams were neck in neck, and everyone seemed to enjoy dishes from both. The Foo Fighters did not enjoy the pumpkin foam on Team Cougar’s dessert, but the judges felt that Cougar’s turkey was better (which was Ariane’s responsibility). In the end, the Foo Fighters chose team Sexy Pants as their winners. The judges felt that the desserts were what set the two teams apart, and that the vanilla foam looked like spit on Richard’s banana s’more. Ariane redeemed herself with her turkey and she was safe along with Eugene, Alex and Carla. In the end, the judges asked Richard to pack his knives.

Next time the chefs will be cooking on television in front of 60 million people. Can they handle the heat? Or will their food come out raw? See ya next week! Happy Thanksgiving!
