Aretha Franklin and Sean 'Diddy' Combs are launching a new American Idol-style talent show to find talented R&B and hip-hop stars. But, unlike the hit talent show, the winner of Franklin and Diddy's new venture will be decided by the stars themselves - not the public.

Soul queen Franklin says, "The country will not vote. It will just be me and Diddy voting for who the next star will be."

The weekly show is tentatively planned for 2009.
