Big-hearted movie star Will Smith took time out of promoting his forthcoming movie Seven Pounds to visit sick kids at Miami Children's Hospital.

The actor thrilled young fans on Thursday when he made a surprise visit to the hospital's wards to hand out gifts and sign autographs for ill children. And after dishing out stuffed animals and DVDs, the star reportedly made a generous donation to help the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation.

The Foundations president, Lucy Morillo, says, "We were deeply moved by Will Smith's donation and the true spirit of joy he brought to the many young patients being treated here. We are very appreciative of his heartfelt support and honored to have such a celebrated figure as part of our Miami Children's Hospital family."
