British heartthrob Robert Pattinson has been named the hottest male movie vampire of all time, trumping big screen bloodsuckers Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas and Tom Cruise. The 22-year-old star is poised to set teenage girls' hearts a-flutter in the adaptation of hit novel Twilight; released in theaters today.

And Pattinson is already movie fans' favorite vampire - before he has even sunk his teeth in a victim on the big screen.

He has topped a Moviefone poll to find the best batty biter.

From Dusk Till Dawn star Salma Hayek topped the female poll, ahead of Kate Beckinsale, who slipped on fangs for the Underworld movies.
