America's Next Top Model PicturesAnd the winner of America's Next Top Model is… not exciting at all. If you've ever watched a reality show in your life, it's pretty easy to see how it works. There are these things called confessionals, and if you plan on being eliminated or voted off the island, or whatever, you're probably going to appear quite a bit. I think that producers and editors see it as your last time in the limelight, your fifteen seconds of fame, but really its letting everyone in the audience know, hey, this is the last you'll be seeing of this girl…at least on America's Next Top Model.

So, sadly, when Analeigh opened her mouth I knew she was a goner. The three remaining girls (Analeigh, Samantha and McKey) had to memorize lines for their commercial shoot on a boat. Jay Manuel was on set and had his own opinion about the finalists. He said that Samantha was lacking in her normal energy. I think she was more afraid of kissing the boy. Shouldn't these girls be pleased with some male interaction in such a high estrogen competition? No, not Samantha. She hoped that the boy she was kissing didn't have herpes. Wow…

McKeyMcKey, who bombed her last commercial, actually showed up and performed. It wasn't great (by any means), but it was decent and unfortunately better than the other two. According to Jay, she got better as the shoots continued and she listened and learned quickly. Very good traits to have in the modeling industry.

Analeigh completely blanked out. Perhaps the pressure of everything got to her. Maybe she knew that if she didn't win America's Next Top Model she'd be more successful. Maybe the producers gave her a faulty script to distract her. (Can you tell I'm a fan of hers?) Either way, Analeigh had to be spoon fed her lines and was the obvious choice to be eliminated, based on the commercial alone. If they would have compared all season long, I think that Samantha would have been singing her swan song instead.

During panel, the judges made it even more obvious of who the winner would soon be. Not only did McKey get called first, but Tyra informed Samantha that "even if she won the competition" she needed to improve her style and model behavior. It was basically saying, well, we have to have two people walk in the fashion show, otherwise we won't have anything to air on television…but you aren't going to win because we really don't like you.

My point was proven once again while awaiting the fashion show. Samantha did most of the confessional talking. And it dawned on me that I don't think McKey's ever really stepped up and talked too much during confessionals. She secretly sneaked under the radar and wound up winning the whole thing! (Can you tell I'm not a fan?)

The J's created a crazy Dr. Seuss-esque runway to challenge the girls and their catwalk abilities. All the judges at panel agreed that both girls needed a lot of improvement when it came to their walk. But, when comparing photos it became apparent that the judges saw McKey as a high fashion model and Samantha as too commercial.

So, America's Next Top Model is none other than 19-year-old Brittany "McKey" Sullivan from Lake Forest, Illinois. Congratulations, even though we all saw it coming.
