Emma Thompson has mixed emotions whenever she visits pal Ellen DeGeneres' chat show because she once appeared on the program without her panties.

The bubbly Brit decided her tight-fitting Zac Posen dress would show pantylines, so she ditched them - only to find out later she was expected to take part in a pole-dancing skit.

In her first trip back to the daytime show, on Wednesday, since she went commando on TV, the Oscar winner revealed, "I was quite scared that it was going to be a sort of Basic Instinct only without the really good lighting... (It was) a tiny bit of a worry."
