Tokio Hotel star Gustav Schaefer is recovering after crashing his car into a tram. The drummer was driving his BMW through Madgeburg, Germany on Tuesday when he reportedly tried to overtake a line of traffic, drove over tram tracks and collided with an oncoming city tram and two parked cars.

Schafer and his two passengers were taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Schafer is still scheduled to perform with Tokio Hotel at the European Music Awards in Liverpool, England on Thursday.
