Tired Of The Election? Presidents' Dirty Pasts On 'Dirty Jobs' Tonight
November 4th, 2008 2:25pm EST Post a comment Add to My News
On Election Night, Dirty Jobs takes a bi-partisan look at Presidents' dirty pasts Tuesday, Nov 4 at 10pm E/P on Discovery Channel.
On the day the country decides who will be our next President, Discovery Channel's DIRTY JOBS with Mike Rowe gets the real dirt behind the White House. For the special Dirty Presidents episode airing Tuesday, November 4 from 9-10PM ET/PT, Mike pays tribute to our dirtiest of Presidents - the ones who were as comfortable in the muck as they were in the Oval Office.
For the special, Mike relates past experiences he's had on DIRTY JOBS with the past lives and pastimes of Presidents - from James Polk, who hosted the first ever White House Thanksgiving turkey dinner (Mike recalls his famous "turkey insemination" episode), to Harry S. Truman, who worked on his family farm and once said, "No man should be allowed to be President who doesn't understand hogs" (Mike remembers his "pig shaver" experience). Other DIRTY JOBS episodes that relate back to our former Presidents' dirty pasts include Rodent Control, BBQ Smoking, Salt Mining, Alligator Egg Collecting and more, offering a completely new way to look at the highest office in the land.
Additionally throughout Discovery's November 4 primetime schedule, from 8 to 11PM ET/PT, the network will air 12 "Dirty Politics" segments (four per hour) that give surprising insight into the actual dirty jobs held by past presidents - from janitor (James Garfield) to tannery worker (Ulysses S. Grant) and butcher (Abraham Lincoln).
