Actor/director John Malkovich has quit his home in France because he refuses to settle a tax dispute with the country's government.
The star made France his home for almost 10 years - but a financial mix-up has prompted him to leave until the dispute is settled by French courts. Malkovich claims he is being forced to pay out more in tax than he made while working in the country - and he's refusing to hand over the cash.
He says, "I have a little tax dust-up. I was directing a play in Paris, which I was also producing. I probably lost in total $126,000. As a producer of the play, I made against that a salary of $31,500. My tax bill was $36,500. It'll go to court and there will be a trial."
