Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother have been found shot dead in their Chicago, Illinois home, according to reports. The shooting took place on the south side of the city at 3pm (local time) on Friday.

Police have yet to verify the identity of the victims, a Chicago Police Department spokesperson only revealing they are "believed to be related to Hudson."

But Willie Davis, the pastor of the family's church, has confirmed the Dreamgirls star's mom, 57-year-old Darnell Hudson Donnerson, was one of the victims, reports network CBS' Chicago affiliate. The other body belongs to a man, believed to be Jason Hudson.

Both victims were found in the house - which is listed under Darnell Donnerson's name - by a man reported to be Hudson's cousin.

Representatives for the 27-year-old star, who only recently announced her engagement to boyfriend David Otunga, have yet to respond to requests for a comment.
