Slideshows Hot or Not? TV Recaps Fashion Interviews Celeb Birthdays
For the first time, in awhile, there were lighter moods and less drama on Monday night's episode of "One Tree Hill." After following some dark plot developments, the show's focus changes direction. New storylines surface: Haley enjoying the pure love of music once again, Nathan and Jamie working together to defeat a bully, Lucas and Peyton acclimate to moving in with each other and Brooke and Sam fight tooth and nail to come to a living agreement. While it wasn't a nail biter, you have to admit, there were some heartwarming scenes in this episode -- and those we must all treasure!
With everything that has gone on over the past few months, Haley James Scott found zero time to incorporate music back in her life. With husband Nathan practicing for Slamball and looking after son Jamie on top of her teaching career, there was no time for anything else. After running into a young girl playing her guitar along the waterfront, the song "When The Stars Go Blue" launches Haley back in time. With the encouragement from her family and friends, Haley finds time to merely play for the love of music. She joins the young girl (in real life, Grace Potter) and breaks out in a beautiful rendition of "I Want Something That I Want."
Since the tragic death of Quentin Fields several weeks ago, little Jamie Scott wears his red cape in honor of his late friend. While on the playground, Jamie is approached by a bratty kid who teases Jamie for wearing the cape. In retribution, Jamie engages in a fight with the boy. Back at home, Haley and Nathan sit Jamie down and discuss rational options for dealing with the bully. Haley tells Jamie the best thing to do is to walk away. Nathan agrees and says it takes a leader not a follower to do so. The next day, Nathan attends recess with Jamie and shows the younger kids just how cool wearing a cape can by performing a few sexy slamdunks. With the help of Godmother Brooke's skillful hand, each of the kids receive a cape of their own.
Not long after learning of his book tour flop, Lucas Scott finds Peyton Sawyer struggling with the idea of living together. Peyton wants to upgrade to another room -- which just so happens to be Karen's, Lucas' mother. Lucas is appalled by the idea and finds, even after agreeing to finally switching rooms that problems arise in bed. Peyton seeks couples advice from B.Davis Magazine to guide her in the decision process. Lucas, on the other hand, despises the magazine's advice and looks to prove his views are better. The two choose to split the house into two parts to see how long the other can resist from each other. By the time night falls, neither can sleep. Lucas and Peyton finally work things out for the better, as Peyton struggles with starvation and Lucas fights the urge to pee! It's so nice to see these two come together the way they have recently!
As if she hasn't experienced enough trouble over the past few months, Brooke Davis takes on yet another challenge -- fighting her new roommate, 15-year-old, Samantha. Despite Brooke's generosity, Sam continues to stay out late, drinking and stealing until one night Owen brings her home. Through her anger, Brooke tells off Owen and confronts Sam at the diner. Unfortunately, Brooke decides the new living situation is not going to work because Sam doesn't want it to. Sam tears up and admits that she's used to people giving up on her, especially her mother, a waitress at the diner. Understanding a mother's betrayal, Brooke decides to take another approach. She hides in the trunk of Sam's normal sleeping car and tells her to give living with her another shot -- with no catches, only rules. Sam seems to obey the 7a.m. breakfast rule, but as next week's previews show, she may be well over her head yet again.
After visiting with Lucas in Omaha, Mouth chooses to come back to Tree Hill and surprises Millicent in the middle of the night. Looking to find a new broadcasting job, Mouth visits his old station, where he is offered not only a starting position, but an office and a hot new assistant - who just so happens to be Gigi from high school! A complete turnaround from the earlier years, Gigi definitely allowed college to transform her new behavior. She constantly flirts with Mouth and even confesses to her former boyfriend that she should have slept with him. Mouth finds the situation awkward and stresses the fact that he has a wonderful girlfriend. Can this be really true? Does Mouth finally have two girls fighting over him? If so, will Mouth remain strong and stay with Millicent, or will his past flame win his heart again?
