LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy is to take a break from the band to work on solo projects. The rocker is too busy with other projects, including his DFA record label, to produce new material with the band.

He says, "I guess it will be a while until we do work together again. It definitely won't be in the next month or two.

"We're like a military unit, when we take a break we take a real break."

According to The Guardian, James Murphy will be playing bass in an unnamed "classic rock" band with LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney, among others. They plan on releasing an album in the first half of 2009.
