Shanna Moakler refused to fly on the plane that crashed and nearly took her ex-husband Travis Barker's life - because she had a premonition something bad would happen.

Moakler, who starred with the rocker in their 2005 reality TV series Meet The Barkers, was due to travel with the drummer and pal Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein on the private jet, which crashed in South Carolina last month, killing four passengers.

But her intuition warned her not to board the plane, although she admits she didn't have the courage to alert Barker.

She tells Us Weekly, "I was supposed to go with (Travis) to South Carolina, and at the last minute, I had this gnarly feeling and said, 'I don't think we should fly together anymore'.

"God forbid something ever happened... our kids wouldn't have both parents. Instead of flying a commercial flight back home, they decided to take a private jet. He emailed me pictures of the plane and wrote, 'It's really small and scary'. I had a bad feeling, but didn't want to sound strange, so I said, 'Be safe'."

And the former Miss USA insists she was "deeply hurt" after the former Blink 182 star wrote in a recent MySpace blog that he hasn't seen her since "the week (he) checked in", adding that the couple share "a love that will always be there".

She adds: "Trav and I are so crazy. We are off for one week, on the next. I haven't thought about the long term. We're just trying to get him well and home.

"I would never abandon anyone in his condition, and I have made sure he had a support system. My feelings are deeply hurt. I wish him a speedy recovery and am thankful he's alive."
