Troubled rocker Pete Doherty has hit back at claims he filmed himself taking drugs - and posted a video of himself ridiculing the accusations on the internet.

The Babyshambles frontman was seen in a video on the YouTube website last week apparently preparing to smoke crack cocaine. An unknown female is seen pouring a bucket of water over his head and tells Doherty, "I thought you'd given all that up."

Several British newspapers ran stories accusing Doherty of glamourising drug use - but he has hit back in another online film.

The new footage features scenes of Doherty socialising with his family, and in a reference to the alleged "crack-smoking" film, Doherty has posted another video titled "Crack? Crack crack crack crack crack, you presumption...".

The rocker has been fighting addictions to heroin and crack cocaine since 2003.
