Coldplay Wins Twice At Q Awards

ColdplayColdplay have triumphed at the 2008 Q Awards in London - the rockers picked up
two prizes at Monday's ceremony, including the Best Act In The World
Today award.

The Violet Hill hitmakers were also presented with the award for Best Album for their latest LP Viva La Vida.

Coldplay were originally nominated in four categories, but lost out on Best Track to British band Keane for their single Spiralling, and Best Video to Vampire Weekend for A-Punk.

Meanwhile, Welsh soul star Duffy was named Breakthrough Artist; Kaiser Chiefs
took home Best Live Act; The Last Shadow Puppets won Best New Act, and Meat Loaf was awarded the Classic Song accolade for Bat Out Of Hell.

Q Classic Song - Meat Loaf, Bat Out Of Hell
Q Inspiration - Cocteau Twins
Q Legend - Glen Campbell
Q Innovation In Sound - Massive Attack
Q Icon - Adam Ant
Q Idol - Grace Jones
Q Outstanding Contribution To Music - David Gilmour
