'One Tree Hill' Characters Make Life-Altering Decisions
Former Ravens basketball star, Nathan Scott, continues to resurrect his career by practicing daily. Since his spinal cord injury, the young athlete faces numerous hurdles but manages to overcome them all. Finally, Nathan receives the call he's been waiting for his entire life. A general manager from a D-league calls and inquires about Nathan's possible interest. After traveling to meet the team, Nathan finds out the GM is only interested in him as a coach rather than a player. As much as this little tidbit of information was thrown into the storyline for dramatic purposes, I have to admit that it actually shows something semi-realistic for once. Overcoming obstacles in one's life is common for many people, as well as encountering battles along the way. It's the choices we make in life that ultimate shape our future. Thus, Nathan has an important decision to make: does he forgo the opportunity to become a high-status coach or does he stick to his personal faith of competing as an NBA player?
Last week, fashion designer Brooke Davis divested her shares of her clothing line, Clothes Over Bros, to her mother. While walking out the door, she finally realized her real family was always in Tree Hill, devoid of her mother. But not long after her return to North Carolina did Brooke's sadness dig even deeper. It's pretty evident during her therapy sessions of her unhappiness with the entire situation. Brooke feels used, unwanted and alone. For someone who once had it all, she feels like now she has nothing; she's completely stuck and moving nowhere while everyone else around her continues to grow. In my opinion, Brooke may be going through some very emotional times, but as a person she has grown into an incredibly generous, caring and smart woman. Aside from creating a multi-million dollar corporation, she cared for a sick child, helped finance a friend's business and continues to be a loving aunt to little Jamie.
The Nanny Carrie saga needs to be over. Viewers can only take so much of the unrealistic, psycho nonsense by this caregiver and her depressing past life. Nanny Carrie went to extremes this week, calling Haley Scott and pretending to be Dan Scott's nurse. Haley falls for it and puts little Jamie's life in danger. Nanny Carrie knocks Haley out cold and chases after Jamie, but is unable to find him in the mass cornfield. As Haley finally comes to her senses, she runs out into the field, finds her son and runs back toward the house. As Nanny Carrie realizes what's going on, she chases after them only to be smacked in the head with a wine bottle by Deb Scott and shot in the chest by Dan. Of course, as soon as everything calms down, we realize Nanny Carrie really isn't dead. Now how is that possible?! The episode ends with Dan shooting her, or so we think. Who else thinks maybe he's in on this little plan of hers? Is he tricking everyone into thinking he hates Nanny Carrie just as much and joining her devious scheme, or does he really want to see her dead for good?
Stay turned for more episode updates when "One Tree Hill" returns on October 13!
