Hollywood actor George Clooney has no regrets over his appearance as comic book hero Batman - insisting the poorly-received movie shot him to superstardom.
The former ER star landed the lead role in 1997's Batman & Robin - and despite the movie's commercial success, it was universally panned by critics.
But Clooney insists that even though he is embarrassed by his poor performance in the movie, he is adamant playing the caped crusader helped raise his profile in the acting world.
He says, "I don't regret anything. With hindsight it's easy to look back at Batman and go, 'Woah! that was really s**t, and I was really bad in it'.
"The truth is, Batman is still the biggest break I ever had. It changed my career. I wouldn't be doing this now if it hadn't been for Batman."
