A New York nightclub boss is taking credit for celebrity DJ SaMANtha Ronson's career, insisting her gave her her big break. Plumm partner Noel Ashman claims he agreed to give Ronson a chance to showcase her talents after her brother Mark pulled out of a gig at his former club Veruka.

Ronson, who was too young to gain access to his club at the time, has been an Ashman regular ever since.

He tells Angeleno magazine, "Mark was supposed to do the gig, and he couldn't, so he sent his siter. She's been with me ever since."
