FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) - Country singer Mindy McCready will surrender to authorities in Franklin, Tennessee, on Tuesday to begin serving a 60-day sentence for violating her probation on a 2004 drug charge.

McCready's deal with Williamson County prosecutors was announced by her attorney. The 32-year-old singer was charged in June with violating her probation by falsifying her community service records.

McCready says in a statement that she wants to put the issue behind her as soon as possible so she can get back to her music career. She also says she's working to regain custody of her young son, Zander.
