Funnyman Jimmy Kimmel helped celebrities on the red carpet at Sunday's Emmy Awards stay loose by offering them shots of tequila. The late-night chat show host, who was among the presenters at the Los Angeles awards ceremony, sent bumbling sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez to the Nokia Theater with the instruction to share as many tequila shots with celebrities as possible.

Rodriguez got steadily drunk after knocking back tequila with stars like Ricky Gervais, Teri Hatcher, Cheryl Hines, Sandra Oh and Evangeline Lilly.

Stunned Gervais initially refused to join in the fun, stating, "You're working... and it's four o'clock in the afternoon." But the funnyman came back after knocking back his tequila, and asked Rodriguez, "Got any crack?"

The drunk TV sidekick ended his pre-Emmy tequila session with his boss, Kimmel, after downing 19 shots
