Rising gas prices and recession fears didn't upset Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' tour-- the veteran rockers beat The Police and Dave Matthews Band to top the touring charts in North America this summer.
The "Last Dance With Mary Jane" hitmakers raked in over $32 million and became the only touring supergroup to make more than $30 million on the road this summer, according to new Pollstar tour tracking estimates.
The Dave Matthews Band came in second with $29.5 million and The Police's final reunion tour shows brought in $28.3 million, putting them third.
Neil Diamond and Coldplay round out the top five.
