Travis BarkerA burst tire has been blamed for the fatal plane crash that killed four people and seriously injured former Blink-182 rocker Travis Barker and Nicole Richie's ex-fiance Adam 'DJ A.M.' Goldstein on Friday.

A cockpit voice recorder captured the jet's pilot and co-pilot reacting to a loud noise during an otherwise routine take-off from a South Carolina airport, according to National Transportation Safety Board official Debbie Hersman.

The recording indicated that the crew was unable to control the private Learjet, which failed to clear the runway at Columbia's airport and burst into flames before slamming into a highway embankment.

Hersman says, "The crew reacted to a sound consistent with a tire blowout."

Both Barker and Goldstein were hospitalized after scrambling from the wreckage before emergency rescue services arrived on the scene.

Doctors said on Sunday that 32-year-old Barker and 35-year-old Goldstein are expected to fully recover from the second and third-degree burns they suffered in the crash.

Goldstein suffered burns to his arms and part of his head, while Barker was burned on his torso and lower body.

The deceased have been identified as pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, co-pilot James Bland, 52, Charles Still, 25, a close friend of both stars, and Barker's assistant Chris Baker, 29.
